5 Social Media Goals For 2019

It’s 2019 and time for you to take a look at your social media marketing for the year ahead.

Here are 5 social media goals to keep you on the right track:

More Video
Twitter and Facebook reps have recommended that you focus more on video this year. They get far more engagement than normal posts. So start shooting small videos that you can package and post.

It’s Story Time
Focus more on your Facebook stories as those are now getting far more engagement than normal posts. We each have a story to tell. What is yours?

Become a Vlogger
It’s time to set that YouTube channel up and focus on becoming a vlogger. A vlogger is basically a blogger that uses video to tell their story. Whatever that story is I’m sure you have something to tell. When you get enough views you will eventually be able to monetize your channel and who knows you might just make a business out of it.

Cut out the negativity
Time and again people and brands have been caught out posting the wrong content. So start taking a long hard look at those posts you are about to post. Do you want to be known as a troll or as a thought leader? The choice is yours.

Plan ahead
If you are a community manager or running the social media accounts for your office it might be the time to look into a schedule for all those posts. So set up a simple schedule for each month of the year. Plan those campaigns well in advance and anticipate any problems. Will you be able to handle a social media crisis? If not now might be the time to learn how to deal with them so that when they hit you are prepared.

Here’s to your success in in social media in 2019.

Your Social Media Goals For 2015

Think about that for a moment.

What are your goals for this year?  Make yourself a strong cup of coffee and sit down and plan out your year on social.

Here are 5 tips to get you started:

Have A Brainstorm
What is it you exactly want to do on social media?  Are you wanting to use it to share personal stories?  Are you wanting to become a though leader or social media influencer.  Are you here to build your business.  Think it through.

Choose Your Social Media
It’s all very well to sit on every social media network but you will find that one of them works better for you than any other one.  So choose which one fits your brand better.  Is it Twitter with short and sharp tweets?  Is it Facebook?  Are you more visual and do you prefer Pinterest or Instagram?  Perhaps you prefer making video content, then focus more on YouTube.

Have A Strategy
Once you have decided where you are going have a strategy in place.  Decide exactly what it is you want to do.  Have a plan and stick to that plan.

Build your Brand
Set mini-goals for yourself and try to slowly build your brand on social media.  Share amazing pictures.  Tell people about wonderful places.  Upload spectacular videos.  Start following interesting people.

Track your progress
At the end of each quarter of the year check your progess.  Are you on track?  Do you need to change anything?  Do you like what you see on your timeline?
If you follow these simple tips you might just have your best year yet in 2015.

5 Tips To Make 2012 Your Best Year Yet

Greetings Dear Readers

By now you are already into the New Year and some of you might still be thinking
what should I do this year?   What are my goals for this year?

Here are 5 Tips to Get You Started.

1.  Do What You Love Doing

Sounds simple does it not.  Most of us find ourselves in a job that pays the rent
and we move from day to day, week to week and before you know it life is over.
What if you decided to start doing the work you love doing.  What do yo love doing?
Think about what kind of work you would love to do and then go and pursue it.
Pretty soon you will become a huge success and the bonus is you will never work a
day in your life because you love what you are doing.

2.  Set 12 Goals

Keep it simple this year and just try to achieve 12 goals this year.  One goal
for each month.  If the goal is a huge one like buying a house or car then break
it down into mini-goals and keep going at it till you achieve it.  Keep your eyes on the prize
and avoid all the negativity.

3.  Surround yourself with positive people

If you want have a great year this year then surround yourself with positive happy people.
No need to be around people who bring you down everyday or people who complain
or people who are negative and give you huge stress.  So just surround yourself with
positive people.

4.  Keep a journal

Get yourself a nice journal and each day write something in it.  Write down your goals in it as well.
Write anything and you will be amazed what pops up like wonderful business ideas, venting, beautiful writing, idea's for a book and the list goes on and on but keep writing in that journal.

5.  Visualize those goals

Now it does not help to just have goals you have to visualize them as well and see it
in your mind, if it's a house, where is it?  What does it look like?  If you are serious
about it then you will know exactly what the inside looks like and keep moving
towards it and one day you will be sitting in that house going Yes!

Bonus Tip For Writers

If you want to write a book this year all you have to write down is this

My goal this year is to publish one book!

Trust me it works :)

What Are You Waiting For?

Good day Readers.

This week we have an interesting topic.

What Are You Waiting For?

Well, dear reader, what are you waiting for?

Are you sitting there in your boring job wondering what you are doing there?
Do you have some sort of talent, something that you are good at?
Well, what are you waiting for?  What's stopping you?
Make a plan and go to it.  Focus on your talent and start doing what you love doing.
Whether it is acting or starting up that advertising business or even writing that book.
Get cracking and work on making that dream a reality.

Here are 5 tips to get you started.

1.  What are you good at?
The first thing to work on is to discover what you are good at?
What one thing could you do for no money?  What is easy for you to do?
What comes naturally to you? What do you love doing?  Answer that and
you are on the way.

2.  Formulate a plan.
Now that you have discovered what you love doing form a plan to succeed.
Work on achieving certain goals in 5, 10 and 20 years from now.

3.  Surround yourself with positive people.
When you start out you will always find people who will say you will not succeed.
So instead only surround yourself with positive people who will help you on your way.

4.  Find a mentor.
Find a mentor who is a success in your chosen career path.  Meet with them weekly or monthly
if you can and pick their brains ask all the advice you need and bounce idea's off them and listen to
what they have to say.

5.  Focus.
Focus on your chosen path and let nothing stop you from achieving what you want to do.

Well, what are you waiting for?

Follow Your Dreams

Greetings Bloggers and Readers.

Welcome to another entry.

Follow your dreams is the title.  What do I mean by that?  Well tonight I took myself off to a delightful coffee shop St Clements in Musgrave Road, Durban to see the band Cloud 9.  This group of 3 musicians who performed eclectic music and gave us a history lesson on music.  It was a delightful evening, the weather was perfect, the audience was appreciative.  What a wonderful evening it was and as I watched them I became aware that these 3 musicians were clearly following their dreams.   Living life to the full and enjoying it at the same time.

How many of us have picked up a musical intstrument with the hopes of becoming the next pop star.
3 weeks later and it's in the garage gathering dust.  It takes time and dedication and learning, countless mistakes and failures to even get a start.   However once you get that start you are on the way to wonder.

So if you like playing the guitar or piano or any musical instrument why not take it up and practice even if it is just for 1 hour a day who knows where it might lead?

How do you network?

Good day bloggers.  Welcome readers.  Today I went to a networking breakfast and was watching all the people network.  It got me thinking.  Do you know how to network?   I took some notes today.

Here are some tips on how to network effectively.

  1. Before you set out consider what to wear.  Wear something that you look comfortable in and try to look neat and smart.  After all you represent your company image.  Think about that carefully.
  2. If you attend the same network event greet the host and try and make friends with a group of people so that when you go you have someone to talk to before you break the ice with strangers.
  3. Don't forget your business cards, they should state, your company name, address, email, telephone, twitter address, website, blog.
  4. You can even bring with pamphlets and handouts, even a lucky prize for the event.
  5. When you start to network try and find a group of people that are open to conversing with others.
  6. Smile and say Hi, What do you do?
  7. Get to know people's names and what they do and see if you can help them out in their field.
  8. Hand out your business cards to people who might benefit from your services.   Don't forget to get business cards back.
  9. Thank the hosts before you leave.
  10. When you get back to your office shoot off a thank you email to the host and select some prospects to email and see if you can meet for a coffee and take it from there.
The more you network the more chance you have of a huge success.

If you approach it with a positive mindset you will have a wonderful time.  Always remember to look people in the eye avoid looking at the floor or elsewhere.   Select some meetings that will interest you and off you go.

Happy networking !

Thanks for stopping by bloggers and readers.

Bad Service or Good Service?

Good day bloggers and readers.  Welcome to another entry.  It's raining here as I write this to you.
Had an interesting experience today.  Thought I would share it with you all.   First off I went to a place
for some service they could not help me, I had to have some sort of form.
Needless to say their brand took a hit with me and  I would not really use them or recommend them.

Later that day I happened to step into a supermarket.  They had a special on coffee unfortunately for me
I picked up the wrong one.  Off I went to the customer care where the Manager greeted me with a smile and 'Can I help you? '   Now that is music to my ears.

Needless to say he fixed up the problem for me in less than 5 minutes and I got the coffee I wanted.  I left that supermarket with a big smile on my face.  I will support them for a long time to come.

Do you see the big picture here?  Are you nodding your head?  Business is just like that.  If you give your clients attitude and bad service people will not come back.  With the instantaneous alarm now known as twitter people can tweet then and there about their bad service and millions of people would know where not to go.

Scary stuff but a business can learn from this.

I leave you with this great sign I saw in a jeweller a long, long time ago.
You remember in times when companies actually cared about clients.

The sign read
Rules for business.
1.  The customer is always right.
2.  If the customer is wrong see rule number1.

And that as they say is that.  Make sure your business gives good customer service or people
will start taking out their mobile phones, opening up twitter and yup you can close real soon.

Thanks for stopping by bloggers and readers.

Is your inbox overflowing?

Good day Bloggers and readers.  Welcome to another entry.

Today  I was going through my inbox and discovered that it had become so cluttered that some of
the things I desire have become hidden.

Do you do the same?  Do your desires, goals, and ambitions get hidden by things such as
bills, receipts, to do lists, tax forms, post, junk?

Make sure your goals can be clearly seen and you can find them in an instant.
Otherwise 50 years from now they will just be a dream.

Get clear and concise and make sure you have them everywhere you can see them.
In your home, bedroom, car, wallet, on your cellphone.

Look at them at least 3 times a day.  When you wake up, in the day and when you go to sleep.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Why Don't You Just Do It?

Good day bloggers and welcome to another entry from Mr Motivator.
Hope you enjoy the ride.

Yesterday I went to the viewing of a wonderful art house movie 'The Lane' directed by a very good friend of mine, Rick Andrew. Before the viewing he was telling us about the movie and how he shot it. He told us about a friend of his who spoke to on numerous occasions. He asked him for advice and how to shoot, what to use. Eventually his friend said to him. Just shoot it.

So many of us do the same thing when we want to do something.
Whether it's wanting to write a book or lose weight, change careers, ask for a raise, go on holiday somewhere wild, start a new business etc etc etc.

Why don't you just do it?

Really, what is stopping you? You have nothing to lose. Focus on what will happen when you do it, all the positive things.

So tonight or this weekend sit down and write down 10 goals and focus on achieving them this year if you can. Set a deadline for each of them. Add the positive outcome to each goal. Visualize it, see it happening in detail. Look at those goals daily. Add it to your notes in your cellphone.

Wishing you all a wonderful productive week :)

Have one goal!

Good day bloggers wherever you are on this planet. Hope this year is treating you well so far.

A friend of mine introduced me to a wonderful viewpoint he has.
He is a writer and for this year his one goal is 'To Publish One Book This Year.'

Simple, no? Do you see how it forces you to clarify your thinking.
It's simple, something you can look at each day and it's pretty easy to motivate yourself to accomplish it. Once the goal is accomplished move on to another goal.

So for a change this year, just have one goal and see how it goes.

Seasons Greetings and New Years Resolutions

Well it is almost the end of 2010. Can you believe it?
If you think back one year have you achieved all you wanted to achieve this year.
When you have some free time you should sit down with a good cup of coffee and a notepad and pen. Draw up a list of 100 goals you would like to accomplish in 2011.

Then refine it to 50 goals, then to 20 goals, then to 10 goals.
Set a due date for each goal and plan how you intend to achieve it.
Some goals might be quite big and you might have to set up mini-goals for them.
The main task is to get yourself on track. Set a plan for your work and work your plan.

Set goals for your career, what do you want to do? What do you love doing? Follow that.
Set goals for your personal life.
Goals for your finances, pay off those debts, invest more so you can live a comfortable life.
Focus on your hobbies.
Give back to society.

The main aim is to enjoy it all.
So that at the end of 2011 you can tick off all those goals you set now.

A really good blog to read
